Default MTI lid??

Just wondering if anyone is using an mti lid and how they like it. Compareable to slp lid? Anyone have pics with mti lid on car?

i have experience with both. since MTI is no longer around, not so sure who even sells them. i have the SLP now and i think the quality is better than MTI. but a lid is a lid. if i were in the market now to buy a lid it would either be the SLP lid or the fast toys lid.

Have had the clear MTI lid on my car for about 5 years now, no problems whatsoever. Fits great and still looks brand new

Link Fail X2...

I've heard the MTI fit was crappy and they actually started splitting.. Don't have any personal experience though..

I have an SLP and it rubs the hood a little..

MTI was the innovaters of the lid for our cars. I've had several lids on different cars. I like the factory look of the slp & the large mouth performane of the Fast Toys 100mm. But like stated earlier I never had any problems with rubbing on MTI lid. I did have to slightly notch my hood for the Fast Toys lid.

P.O.S. I've got one that pops the latches in front and pops out of the tabs in the back everytime you nail it. I believe I threw it in the back of the Camaro last time it pissed me off. Put the Whisper lid back on it. If you were local I'd let you have it for $50.

Thats what I was looking for. Thanks for the pic. I should get mine tomorrow, so I'll find out how well it fits this weekend. Definately looks a lot better than stock. And don't see them as often as the SLP.

I have had MTI clear and Carbon Fiber lids and both fit like crap. Didnt seal, latches pop up, and go around the MAF like crap again.

I have a newer SLP lid and it fits perfect.

I ONLY bought the MTI lid because it was clear, and it gave me a hassle. It cracked a little, which I had to super glue. And it didn't seal so I had to use several layers of weatherstripping to get a decent seal. I wouldn't buy it again. Also doesn't seal well around the MAF.

I have the older black MTI lid. Fits perfect. I bought the clear one first and it cracked in a month or so so i sent it back and got the black one and its been fine ever since. GMHTP magazine did a dyno test with all the different lids about 5 or so years ago and the mti lid showed the most gain and thats why i bought it.
