Something as easy as a stuck throttle cable? Is the car an M6?

DOes the car misbehave under load only? or at idle as well?

It only misbehaved when I put it in gear and started moving. Otherwise it sat nicely at idle at a good 700 RPMs stable

From what I can tell, throttle cable is not stuck and works just fine.

What if you rev the car in Neutral?

Sounds like the gauges pegging is an electrical problem...maybe a loose connection at the MAF? Did you check all the injector connections?

If I rev it in neutral, it works as normal. However, the RPM's come down slower than normal.

I'll go check the MAF and injectors now... didn't think of that.

EDIT: Okay, checked the MAF and injector connections. Went to start the car beforehand and everything is normal. Still disconnected and reconnected them to make sure they were seated correctly.

Any more ideas of what it might be?

Okay, bit of an update. Got the car to Autozone and got my alternator and battery tested, and they are fine. Tried to get the car to the shop and it stalled in the middle of an intersection and wouldn't start back up. Got it towed to the shop and they told me that both my fuel pump isn't working and my spark plugs aren't firing.

Anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like crank position sensor or cam position sensor failing maybe?

Found out it was a couple of grounds that got corroded behind my engine block. Replaced them and now the car runs like a champ.

Allways nice when it ends up being something simple and free!
