what can be done to pep my 5.3 up? ok guys. im new to the ls motors. my dad was old school and we only worked with 350-454. i have a 06 silverado crew cab and im wanting to get some more power out of it. i have a cold air intake and a bully dog programmer. programmer has done next to nothing. i have been told that a cam out of a ls6 will give it about 40-50 more hp. here is my truck, what can i do to it? im want headers but will a long tube hang below the frame? i drive it daily and tow with it pretty regular. plus its straight exhaust, but has the cats.

that cam mite gain you 20hp.consider compcam 54-455-11,great for torque.or look at some comp LSr cams.I would go to the ls truck forums for exhaust ideas before a cam change.also look at a F.A.S.T. intake made for trucks
