Do any free mods decrease engine life? What mods, if any decrease engine life?

Almost all mods you do can decrease engine life. I would stay away from a descreened maf. What were you planning on doing?

No its the way you drive it after you do the free mods that decreases engine life lol, i dont see how making the car breathe better, which is what the free mods do, could cause a decrease in engine life.

if u take the PCV system off it kills oil life i heard which inturns kills engine life, besides that EGR and cat removal wont hurt anything, ive done it and like the fact my car is breathing pure air and not half exhaust, it be like if we ran a hose from one of are nostrals to are mouth to "recycle" air...

As someone mentioned, the mod I would stay away from is porting/descreening your MAF, which can throw things in the computer off and allow things that get past your air filter into your engine (I've heard of leaves being stuck in the screen, etc., things you dont want in your engine!)

Otherwise, you should be pretty safe. Just keep up on maintenance and watch for how you drive the car, and you should be just fine.

It doesn't kill oil life - what happens is that instead of placing the crankcase under vacuum and pulling corrosive gases out, the inside of the engine stays at atmospheric pressure, which isn't nearly effective at venting those gases.

It has to say [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC].

I have a descreened MAF, found that the previous owner did it but I could care less since it runs fine. I wouldn't have doen it had it been intact though. Ported TB might be the only free mod worth it if you do a good job, otherwise people sell them here (or will do it) for ~$50.

ya i wasnt 100% sure on it but i knew it had something to do were it didnt vent all the bad gasses out of it so it made u need an oil change more often but lol
