Just bought my first LS (LY6)
I just purchased a badly wrecked 2009 chevy express van with an intact 6.0/4L80e.
It was from co-part and I paid $750 plus $300 in hidden fees. I think this is the LY6.
Why is it only rated at 319hp?
Don't these have the rectangular port L92 heads?
That rating is the same or less than the LQ4, I think. Does the newer LY6 have full floating rods?
My intent is to swap this into a very dirty 69 camaro.
Thanks.

You have to keep in mind they charge you for EVERYTHING. You buy a motor, and usually they'll charge you for everything from the balancer to the intake to the injectors, manifolds, flexplate, wiring harness, alternator, power steering, all the brackets, yada yada. Been through that **** to many times...

I bought the entire van from co-part, not to be confused with car-part. Co-part auctions off whole salvage vehicles from dealers, individuals, but mostly insurance companies. The auction is held on line, but unlike ebay, it is similar to a live auction.
The hidden fees I'm talking about added $300 to the purchase price. I won the auction at $750 and will be out the door for about $1050. I'm not complaining, I'm just getting the word out. I just scored an entire 2009 LY6/4L80e vehicle for peanuts. I've been looking for a few weeks and saw several not so great deals, but this seemed like a no brainer. I inspected the van and the drivetrain appears to be intact as the collision occurred above the engine.
Can anyone help with posting pics? I cut and pasted links to my photos on google.
Any more info on this LY6?

Best thing to do is click on "Go advanced", and then click on the paper clip icon in the top-middle of the gray box (attachments). Then load up the pictures from you hard drive, click upload, and then post.
The driver might have survived, but I definitely hope they didn't have a passenger. Anyway, seems like a pretty good deal.

Thanks for the help. I'm starting to get a clue.
I can't figure out what it hit. It was well above the bumper and engine. I was amazed at how well the engine was intact when I inspected it. 'Hopefully no surprises, like a passenger when I cut it up.
From what I can find LY6 has full floating pistons, VVT, and rectangular port heads just like everyone says. 'Hope I can get the harness out...

Update
After a day of cutting and dissasembly:
Found the valve cover and coil pack to be damaged on drivers side from steering linkage and 3 broken valve cover studs. All came out of head. Luckily no apparent head damage.
Factory bee hive springs.
I would like to run it before I pull it out.
