Unscrew it. If it is factory, it is on there snug, but grip it tight and "lefty loosey" the thing off. Simple as that.

I believe that's the 03/04 Cobra shift ****. It should fit, I've seen one in an fbody before.

If someone ever put locktite on the shifter **** threads you're gonna have to really crank on it to break it free.

Yes it is lefty loosey, but for me the leather wrapped Hurst "H" **** is the best for me.

dont you have to modify either the shifter threads or the **** in order to get that to fit? i dont think its a direct "bolt on" ****...

i have a hurst **** on an old stock stick and i cant get the **** to even budge. i think someone put locktite all over it or they just simply just super glued it in place. i can turn the **** 180 degrees but it would break loose. so good luck...

Yes. Mustangs have a different thread pattern. I had to make new threads on the shifter handle in order to get it to fit my car. Well worth it though in my opinion.
