2001 Z28 108K LS1 Engine Vibrations
Hey I'm kinda new to the LS1 world but I do know my way around a car. My car has an engine vibration around 2,000 to 3,500. I've been looking around at some post but really can't find a answer. I did a complete tune up on it, new plugs, wires, oil and filter, fuel filter, and trans. service. Vibration was there since I got it in July. I can feel it at idle in drive or park. In park I can rev it up to 2,000 to 3,500 I can feel it more. Motor mounts were shot so I replaced them with poly ones. Also the trans mount was ripped in two. So I replaced that with a ploy. I know everyone is going to say to get rid of the poly trans mount, but why would it effect it at idle, and 2,000 to 3,500 in park. Also when I drive it and give it full throttle I can feel it, but not bad. Just enough to hear the change in the ashtray rattle. I can bring it up well past 100 and the vibrations there but my mirrors are not falling off and doesn't feel like I'm going to lose control. I'm also throwing a lean code but I found out last night that some intake bolts were a little loose and the pcv wasn't tight. If anyone can help me I'd appereciate it.

Car does not have headers. I'm told the harmonic balancer does nothing since the engine is internally balance. While in drive I think I found the problem. The tail shaft bush seems to be worn. But as it goes for in park, its still there. Anyone think the flywheel is cracked or a balance on the flywheel is off? Going to check torque converter bolts today since it seems like my starters going.

Check the balancer and possibly get it scanned by a tuner. Also loose that Poly and get a 1LE mount. The poly mount caused horrible vibrations on my car.

I had a bad vibration when I would decelerate. I checked the angle of the driveshaft to the tail shaft (used the bottom of the transmission). There is a shim on the top of the trans mount so I had some thinner ones made at a shop the laser cuts pieces. This has really cut the vibration, though I'm still getting some. I'm going to play with the rear pinion angle, its set at 2 degrees now
