Recent clutch issue
so my car was working fine, then all of a sudden my gears start grinding a bit and are really hard to go into 1st and reverse..............so i take the cap off the hydraulic fluid, and the pedal becomes way more firm and it easily goes in and out of gears for about 2 hours worth of driving, soon as i park it and start it again, its back to the way it was....my question is, is there air getting in there somehow? and also ive been taking the cap off and on before going for drives, and it seems to be alright, so do you think i did any damage with the slight grinding that has already happened?, also really hard to go in reverse so id pump the clutch and get it in, obviously this isnt good, wondering if i did any damage....and what could be causing this to happen.
thanks alot guys.
ps: its a 2001 ss with the 5.7L

thats what im assuming, however could it be a slave or master cylinder leaking(even tho not a drop of fluid has come out), im gonna bleed er tm when it stops raining, but could it literally be that simple.
