A Duh Question.. Help me out!

Alright.. if the pipe from the muffler to the exhaust tip is 2.5", then what size does the inlet to the exhaust tip need to be?

I'm a bit confused. Should the tip slide into the pipe and then get sealed with a band clamp, or should it just meet flush with the end of the tip and the get sealed..

Thanks

not sure what your trying to ask, but the part you put the tip should be the same size as your tip, and then the tip slides over the exhaust pipe and then clamped down or welded on

Thanks,
I just wanted to know if the tip was supposed to slide over the pipe exiting the muffler.

I've got a 3inch Y-Pipe that goes into my 2.5 inch SLP Loudmouth

Maybe too late, but...

You probably put your tips on already but...the exhaust tip is supposed to slide OVER the existing exhaust pipe. The idea for it sliding over is not to disturb the airflow coming out of your exhaust. If you placed it inside your existing pipe, you will be disrupting this smooth air flow.

Thanks for the explanation. I haven't installed the tips yet.. I'm actually still waiting for the Rumbler to arrive from TSP... It should be here on Wed. :gruffy:
