Dead Spot??

I have a stock 2002 A4 WS6. I love it when I am going 30mph and step on it, because I get that megaboost or whatever you want to call it. But, when I punch it at 35 to about 40 its slow as shit, well compared to 30 mph. I hear that a stall converter will solve this problem. So, my question is, if I get a stall converter will I get that same megaboost at all speeds?

Mine did....35 to 55-60 is the worst on the A4's.

I run a 3200 with a 2.5 STR.

very streetable

what it is .... the stock settings tell the tranny to either down shift or "ride out" the current gear ya just gotta learn the car mine will down shift at >30, & 50 (i think) some other spots like 35 just outright suck i think the best fix for this is the b\m trans pack that will let you manually shift the car w\o hurting the tranny this way you get nice crisp downshifts from any speed... until then just gotta race from a roll that youll know youll get a down shift i know the prob will be more than solved with a tcs ssf3800 and the trans pack

i actually lost a race recently beacouse i went form a 35 roll like a dumbass it was real close but i know if it was a 25 roll i waslud creamed the car it was a stock vette

I have the same damn problem. Dead spots at 35 and 75. I tried to use the Predator to change the MPH shifts, but it did nothing. I would like a remedy to this as well.

gears will help too.

Yeap even with a VIG 2800 I have a dead spot from 35-40. Time for a Yank SS4000
