Default new 2000 ws6 fuel milage probablem

yea i just bought a 2000 ws6 6 speed and it only getting aroung 11mpg, im sure it has a cam(unknown size), has headders borla exhaust and only other visable things are knn msd wires...i also think it has nos cause theres a hole in the rubber intake hose that was covered by black tape.....does it need a tune or can it be tuned without cam spec.....i also know it has stock rockers cause i pulled the cover cause it has a very noise valvetrain and it all looked good.....thanks

Yes you can get it dyno tuned without knowing the cam specs.

is it throwing any codes? hows the driveability? I got a mail order tune once that only got me 10mpg but it also drove awful. Black smoke everywhere, needed cleared out all the time, ran about like it had a 30 year old quadrajet on it. Sent it back for another mail order and I went to getting around 22mpg on the highway.

It will help the tuner dial it in quicker but no you do not need to know the cam specs.... Does it run OK??? A tune that far off should run like poo. My 403 gets 19 hwy and you being M6 even cammed should easily see 20+

Runs great, no smoke and checked for codes and was all good, I did pull the rubber hose off the tb and there was a hole drilled in it, and it also idles around 850-900 seams to high to me, looks like I need a tune do I need to replace the tb butterfly or is the hole in it ok to stay,, thanks for the replies

The idle is about right, the hole in the throttle blade will make the car idle higher anyhow. It has to have some type of tune to not be throwing codes with all of those mods. You just need to take it to someone and see what needs to be changed. Until then I wouldn't run it very hard, just normal driving.

maybe clean your MAF sensor and change the plugs.plug a scanner into and check the live data.dose it still has CATS ?check the oil filler cap for ring blowby.bad rings can effect mileage and not throw a code.

im going to go out on a limb and say it has a nitrous tune, retarted timing and increased fuel, too prevent spark knock. take it to a tuner.

There will be a hole in it from the factory to let air in at idle.
