What do you guys use to recharge the A/C?
Well I know its not exactly one of the hot months of the year but I bought my 2000 SS a few months ago when it was still pretty hot here in CA and I noticed it had a very weak A/C system. Do a lot of the guys on the forum just use a standard R134 Recharge kit from like Pep Boys or Autozone to charge it back? I've never used one before but figured I'd give it a shot before paying $100 at a shop... Even though those damn kits are nearly $40 anyways. I was hoping someone could chime in whose had experience and tell me the proper procedure. Thanks!
PS - My heater/ I guess A/C fan can be pretty loud from time to time. Does anyone know a quick fix regarding this also?

The only refrigerant you can use is 134a. It took the place of 12 which was in older cars. Can't go wrong doing it yourself. Just make sure it is low on charge before adding some
