Default Vintage air. what year gm ac compressor to use?

Want to put vintage air in my custom build and want to know if there are gm compressors without a variable vane that has to be controlled by the bcm? I talk to a rod shop that sells the kit and said that would be the problem I would need to use an early model compressor. Just not sure what year or model that would entail.

Thanks for the newbie help.

Default

I would look into a Harrison Radial V5. they come on 80's trucks, camaro's vettes...etc. very plentiful and I beleive they just run off of power and ground.

Default for an ls3?

Should have been more specific I guess? Assumed this was an ls area too. Want to put in the stock location that that c5 uses as that will fit perfect. Just need one that operates the same way as the old radials do.
