Default K-member bolt bottoms out

I was experiencing a clunk over bumps and when I slammed on brakes. I discovered that I had a k-member bolt loose. When I went to tighten the nut, it just keeps bottoming out. Anybody know what my problem is?

do You mean it is screwed in all the way, but not clamping the kmember to the subframe?

When I tighten the nut down, it feels like it is getting tighter until a certain point. Then, the nut just loosens back up. It's almost like there isn't enough threads to tighten it all the way down. It's hard to explain. When it loosens up, it's almost like the nut was never tightened.

It turned out to be a loose brake caliper bolt. Got everything fixed now.

I got it tightened up too, but it wasn't what was causing the noise. I THOUGHT I had everything fixed after tightening up the k-member bolt, and then I had the brake caliper bolt actually come completely out while driving.
