SLP Flow Pac thoughts
Just bought a 99 Trans Am and I NEED to change the induction. Some dumb dumb before me put on a cone intake they made from the local parts store that doing nothing but suck hot engine air right now.
I have been looking at going with the SLP Flow Pac: Cold-Air Induction Kit, High-Flow Air-Box Lid, F-Body Smooth Bellows, and SLP Air Filter for $300 new
Only other mods are pacesetter LT headers, texas speed y-pipe, corsa exhaust.
Thoughts?

Ya. Dnt buy it lol... If u want a good ram air buy a SLP lid $90, Fernco hose from hardware store. Like $10. And SSRA. I believe it's $170. Ya it will cost more... But it will perform better! Just run a paper filter. Many dnt like K&N filter

The bellows is a waste of money.
Get an SLP lid and if you are deleting your AC use the Chris1313. The Non-A/C Chris1313 is the largest.
If your going to keep the A/C, Fast Toys ram air, Super Sucker ram air, or the smaller A/C version of the Chris1313.
After than just go get a normal paper filter. I have a K&N that came on the car when I bought it. If it wouldn't have been on the car when i bought it I would have never bought one.

I bought it, I did not mind the price, close to the cost of lid alone, brand new. I also dont use the bellow when I swapped to a FAST, since going back I may toss it back on. I still use the sheetmetal duct as well.
Like said I dont mind it, but would not recommend as a "must have". The most important component is the lid.

The only good slp parts are lids, and there exhaust the lm1 /2 dont sound the best on a internal modded car but lots of people like them and they flow great, every other slp performance part is overrated and overpriced, get a slp lid, used you can find one for 40 to 50 bucks, my bud is selling one now, the stock bellow is fine,do the free ram air mod/and port your own tb (very easy mod to do and is very cheap to do just follow a write up) the chris 1313 is the best imo period, the ftp one is pretty nice as well.just keep an eye on the classifieds, they pop up on there every week, just wait for the right deal,i would never buy parts like that new when ya can save a good chunk of cash, then all ya need is some longtubes/exhaust and it will really make the car run alot better

I bought my SLP air lid, ram air intake, high-flow bellows, and K&N filter shortly after I purchased my car 10 years ago, and I couldn't be happier with the fit, finish, and minor performance gain of these pieces. Whether or not the bellows actually gives you any performance boost is certainly debatable, but it makes sense in theory, and it LOOKS better than the factory accordion tubing to me.

Here you go the same (SLP lid, smooth bellow)or better (SSRA, paper filter) parts for the same price.
SLP Lid$89.87
SSRA$169.00
Ebay smooth bellow$32.00
paper air filters$3.96-11.05
On a side note it looks like the Auto Extra brand filters are made by Wix but probably use a lower grade filter media. I doubt it filters worse than a Fram and is likely to have the same number of pleats as a Wix so I may buy one for my next filter just to see.

Just a matter of opinion....the appearance of the stock bellow has never bothered me at all.
