New ride 1998 Camaro Z28. I have questions.
Just picked up a 1998 Z28 Camaro from Florida. The service engine light is on. It needs paint. The AC is not working. And there is some sort of yellow pollen looking substance underneath the windshield.

Did not really see the questions. But very nice you got a new car!
Needs a detail, general cleaning. Need to polish up the head lights too.
With the A/C not working, the car could have sat, that is most likely some sort of mold. That got trapped in between the A-piller and Windshield. YOu can remove the plastic molding on the inside but you you hit metal. IF there is no contamination (texture) that you can feel and it is truely inside the windshield. I would have it pulled (replaced???) maybe with a clean windshield. Also paint could have erroded but thats very odd to see that. Like said pull it and check.
Or just pulled, cleaned and re installed. Labor should be inexpensive. Check tires for wear and dry rot.
Do all the fluids and general matience.

I did not see a question. What did you want to ask?
I agree about the headlights, they need to be restored, especially if you're going to spend the money on a repaint.
It looks like the boarder coating of the windshield is separating from the glass. Maybe from heat/sun? I've seen that before on some 3rd gens, can't say I've ever seen it on a 4th gen though. Probably just end up replacing the glass.

It has 101k on the clock. The transmission is automatic. Do a lot of AC compressors on these cars go out? The vehicle is from Florida so it did a bit of baking. The pollen substance seems like it is between the glass and the black tint. I am not sure how it go between there. The car has no mods.

That reminds me of my SS when I first got it, just take it easy and do a little at a time man and you will eventually end up with a clean Z28. First thing I would do is give it a good wash/wax, try out one of those headlight restoration kits, then get that SES light diagnosed at Autozone. I think that would be a great start.

I polished up the vehicle yesterday. The headlights came out very well after using the Meguiar's kit. The service engine light turned off and has stayed off since I unplugged the battery.
However, now I am missing the radio code. Where can I get the code? I am going to try to contact to last owner.
I need a new muffler and exit piping (mid piping is okay). Do I need to buy a whole new Cat back?
The car needs a new driver seat. Any suggestions?
The vehicle needs a new AC compressor.
And it needs paint.

You could look for someone parting out a Camaro with the same interior color as yours. It appears you have dark gray leather, so you'd need a seat from a '97-'99 Camaro to match. Or, you could just get yours recovered.
What exactly is wrong with the paint, and what sort of processes have you tried to correct it so far? It's pretty shocking how well paint can be restored with the right combo of chemicals and application processes. If it's actually peeling or cracked though, then new paint will be the only option.

Thank you for all your help. The radio code ended up being in the owners manual! Where do you guys recommend buying a Magnaflo cat back setup from? The cheapest price I have seen is $520 shipped.

I think I have decided against trying to get a muffler shop to mount a new muffler in the old stock cat back. My headers and cats look okay. The mid pipe is decent. Then my mufflers and connecting pipe to the tips is rotted out.
