Default Did any trans am ws6's come out with a blank fill in panel between the taillights?

One of my trans am ws6's has a blank panel between it's taillights. Instead of saying "Trans Am" and having the logo like this:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/93-02-Trans-...r#ht_500wt_922

instead mine is just all black. Well by all black I mean the same color as that one in the link would be if you just eliminated the trans am/logo part. So my questions is- did any trans am ws6s come out of the factory with this piece blank like I have? or did one of the past owners replace/screw something up?

this is from a 2000 trans am ws6 M6. Doing my homework and using the search button like a good boy, I came across this, however, not sure if it is 100% accurate or if blank ones did come out in 2000.

thanks!

Trans Ams say "Trans Am" with the bird on it. Formulas and V6 birds just say "Firebird" with the bird on it. I have an all black one on mine. All you have to do is polish the logo stuff off of them to get it that way. (1998-2002)

Also a few variations for special models. Mine came with a unique one because it is an NHRA model. I keep that off the car to avoid wear and tear.

None of these panels came blank in the '98-'02 years, being a WS6 or not has nothing to do with it. Someone probably removed the logo or used a panel from an LT1 era car.

it is very common for the logo to fade away by the sun so once it starts to fade out alot of people just remove the rest of it
