New Ls1 owner, advice on air induction
Hello, i have recently purchased a 1999 Firebird Formula, this being my first ls1 car, i was wondering about adding ram air to it. The car has the stock firebird hood, but and aftermarket air box with a k&n filter. Is the set up better than say a ws6 hood with functional scoops? Another thing i have looked into is cold air intakes such as the flow pack from slp and the fast toys ram air, so i guess my question is, should i spend my money on a ram air hood and find a ram air box, one of the cold air kits, or is it good as is. I recently made a couple of passes at my local dragstrip with the car and ran a 13.59 and a 13.69 both at around 103 mph on street radials. Im just looking for the best bang for my buck and whats would make my car a little quicker. thanks

It's good as is with the sleek beak hood, you will see virtually 0 gains by switching to a WS6 hood/lid. Your best bet would be to get the lid of your choice and an actual functional ram air setup like the ones listed above.
