Default SLP Package

I'm currently looking at a car that i soon hope to purchase. It's owned by the original owner and he said it's all stock. It's a 2000 Camaro SS. Now he doesnt list it as an SLP. But i noticed the car comes with the 5 spoke chrome ZR1 style rims. I thought the 2000 SS came with the 10-spoke rims. He also includes a SLP car cover. But the car still have the stock SS exhaust. So is it an SLP or not? I rather not ask because i dont want him making the price higher lol. Thank you.

Look for slp options sticker in door jamb. Will have slp logo on it. Call slp, street legal performance, with vin # and they can verify. Could possibly be a SS, with upgraded zr1 rims and car cover. They were slp options, if I am correct. Door sticker or calling slp is the easiest way to properly verify though. Good luck!

Every single LS1 SS is done by SLP, so, if it is a true SS (RPO WU8) there is no question about it being an "SLP" or not. They are all SLP cars.

I think what you are asking about is additional SLP content beyond the base SS package. If so, you can verify this by contacting SLP (and you should also see RPO Y2Y on the SPID sticker), and the additional SLP door sticker may still be visable on the passenger's door jamb.

And lastly, the chrome ZR1s were an SLP option all the way through the 2002 model year, so they could certainly have been ordered on that car originally. The base wheel for 2000 was the silver painted 10-spoke, but many SSs were ordered with the chrome ZR1s from SLP instead.

If I'm not mistaken, the early 2000's had the zr1 style wheels as the base SS wheel and the 10 spokes took over later in the year and the zr1's became an option.

I own a 2002 SLP SS with the CME exhaust and the blackwing air lid, beyond the SLP base SS, the options were for upgraded exhaust or intake, the exhaust options were an SLP muffler with CME or Quad Tips. The intake option was the black wing lid (it says blackwing on the lid.) They were rated to increase HP by 10 each, Most common configurations were one of the exhaust options to increase to 335 HP, less common was the exhaust and intake upgrades bringing it up to 345 HP. Like others have said there should be an SLP Options sticker on both door jams highlighting which options were included from factory

This could be correct for the silver painted version, I don't know for sure what month the production switch happened. However, the chrome version was never a base SS component in any year, so regardless of what the base wheel design was at the time, the chrome (assuming these wheels weren't added later) would have been additional SLP content.
