Is it worth the $60?

Is it worth the $60?
I have a 98 z28 would it be worth switching out my exhaust manifolds to replace with some from an 00 Camaro with being in California I'm just trying to stay as smog friendly as possible so LT are out of the question, also will everything bolt right up except the pass side cat right?

The 2000-2002 manifolds are said to be better, however, I don't think it would be worth the trouble, you will gain very little. Have you looked into shorty headers? They don't do much either but they may improve your sound a little and end up performing slightly better than another pair of stock manifolds.

GMHTP did a tech article about increasing performance while staying Cali-legal - not a bad write up. I think they made almost 400 to the wheels without touching the PCM or exhaust system. May have had TES shorties on it I cant remember.

I would go with the shorties as well. Yeah, they cost more than $60, but if you don't ever plan to do LTs then you might as well get the most out of your labor and setup by going with the shorties...they will perform better than any stock manifold. Just wait until you have the money to buy them, or find a good deal, rather than doing the job twice IMO.
AIR and EGR connections are different between these two manifolds as well, and being in CA you'll need this to pass your test. So that's another factor to consider.

Although the gains wouldn't be near as much as LTs, I have to agree that shorties would still be better than manifolds.

With as much of a headache it is to swap them out, definitely the shorty headers. I wouldnt beat my brains against the wall over a set of possibly slightly better stock manifolds. It makes me cringe thinking about swapping those things.
