Which is the better cold air kit?
I'm stuck between 2,the Slp flopack from Tsp with the high lid smooth below and k&n filter or the k&n cold air kit itself any big difference in the 2?..the Slp flopack is cheaper and already comes with the smooth below instead of paying $60 just for the below. The k&n is a little pricy, but was told you'll see better gains because of no restrictions.

I'm guessing probably.. just speaking that the k&n fuel injection cold air kit would benefit me better down the road for headers true duals and head and cam swap.It might be pricier I'm just tryin to be logical but I have seen the flopacks on some h/c cars that will run guess it's really just a matter of preference.

Just get a decent lid and run a paper filter, lots of people have issues with oiled filters screwing their MAF up, and the paper filter itself is a non-restrictive part; someone on here did a back-to-back dyno with and without a paper filter, and the power difference was below the resolution of the dyno.

The smooth bellows is an appearance bit, it won't affect the performance one way or the other.

i has the SSRA and it did actually work, i was happy with the results
this is true. CAI is commonly misunderstood. COLD air induction. CAI's for fbodys typically have their intake on the driver side, in front of your motor by the headlight. tell me how that air is any cooler then moving the intake to its stock position 1 foot to the left? its not. not by any ammount that will be worth the 160-300 bucks you pay. a true CAI draws from underneath the car, and as far out of the engine bay as it can get where air is actually cooler. for our cars i would go with a true ram air kit such as the chris113 or the SSRA, and get a lid ( a lid is a lid so no need to get picky on choice. slp is the cheapest) then seal the lid and let the SSRA or chris113 do all the work. its up to you OP but use your head and think about the two setups and which one actually makes sense.

+1 on being happy with my SSRA!! Z28s have nothing under the airbox so it made a real improvement, 2-3 hundreths off my 60' and 2 mph. The Chris1313 wasn't out when I got the SSRA but posts indicate that it works well also. Choice is yours! Good Luck!! Larry.
