what yall think about those set up for turbo application bang for the buck?????

They're pretty similar and can be had for about the same amount of cash...go for the 5.3 and throw some power at it. 6.0 if you can find one cheap enough would work even better.

If you look in the forced induction section youll find a great deal of info about how well those motors hold up to boost. I remember seeing somewhere that someone put down right around 1000 rwhp with a stock 5.3 with only head gaskets and studs I believe.

If you can do all the fab work then itll be a great budget build

cool we just got a 1998 camaro and are looking for build choices
i saw this and thats why i wanted to go 5.3

80 bottles of nitrous and 4 years of turbo im down for that for a 5.3 only being 500 buck

Yup^ He is a member on here. Cant go wrong with either blocks. 5.3 will be a beast budget setup.

5.3 would be my first choice but I wouldn't turn away a nice 4.8 if I found one for a good price. Really can't go wrong either way.

Looking to possibly go this route also, my other choice is a dart block 421 with 18 degree heads. Wanting to go mid to low 9's
