Default Question about setup

Ok I posted earlier about my setup but I have some questions I have a 2004 lq9 6.0 with a Texas 228r cam 228/228 .588/.588 114 las with PAC beehive ls1 .600 lift springs
317 heads no work done
I have a 150 shot not installed yet

My questions are
What cam and springs can I go up to and still run the nos (I like a Lopey cam)
Also should I go to 243 heads with work or get my 317's ported and polished I'm not wanting to build a new engine for a ill while but I want more power and speed out f my motor it has less then 30k since new install

Thanks for the info guys

go with a 232-234 cam and with the ls6 heads(243) they have higher compression.

Very soon here I will be running my PRC 5.3 heads on a LQ9 with a 612 lift, 236/242 duration, 113 LSA cam. Will this motor have valve reliefs or not?

I say keep your current cam.you mite have a lq4 if you have 317 heads.get some 243/799 used for $400,for higher compression..you can run nos with just about any cam, just have it tuned correctly for nos, more fuel and less timing .nos or most boost likes wider lsa ,and more exhaust duration . you can have the idle turned down for that lopey sound, and get a nice exhaust that gives it a muscle car sound.how much hp do you want ?and what is your budget ?
