no running no dash no brake lights The Orange wire comes into switch no power but no fuses blown. So where should I look? I jumped red wire to Orange and everything works now

I'd start with the headlight switch and relays. I was working on a friend's S10 and that switch and/or relays had just stuck "on" so that the switch had no effect in any position. Your switch/relays might be stuck 'off" or otherwise non-functional. The dash lights come on with the headlight switch so thinking it is likely related.
Not saying the S10 is anything like the F-body but GM likely at least wired the switches and such similarly.
