Is it possible to get a 98 SS for....
Is it un reasonable to think that I could find a 98 SS for around 13,000? My stipulations are: 6 speed, mileage lower than 75,000, and in good shape(not ragged).
I am in the process right now of looking for a newer vehicle than my Z-71, and the LS-1 seems like a much better alternative than say a Civic. I sold my father on the idea when he saw that they get 15 in the city and 27 on the highway. An I know that when buying these cars gas mileage shouldn't be an issue, but I am comming from a vehicle that gets 10 on the highway, and 8 in the city so....
Let me know what you think, and if you think I could get one cheaper, by all means throw some average numbers out at me.

well ive seen a 2000 SS for 19000 with 38000 miles on it....so i believe it would just take a lil bit of looking....
keep in mind...especially if youll mod the car...you can just get a Z28...do the Free Ram Air mod...get a aftermaket airlid... and suspension...say Torque Arm, and LCA's...youll run as strong if not stronger then some SS's especially the stock ones

Like everyone on here will tell you keep looking long and hard... I picked up my 1999 ss with 38,000 on it from the original owner for 14,000 dollars. If you keep looking youll find exactly what your looking for it just might take a while.

Well guys it is to late for me...the mod bug already hit me. In fact that is the reason why I am in this mess. My truck is literally self destructing, and in a desperate attempt to keep my parents from just buying me a honda I am looking to this car and crowd. My father and I are car nuts, so it makes it easyier to convince him that the LS-1 is well, Almighty. He saw the gas mileage and about freaked at how good it was.
Anyway, part of the deal was that I would wait till after college to do major mods like cams, or internal work. That doesn't mean that it won't happen sooner, but I atleast have to get the car first before I can do anything like that. For now I will have to do the basic mods exhaust intake, shifter to satisfy me, and most likely LS-1 Edit. My good friend has a good tune that he has been working on in his car, so maybe we can modify it to fit mine. Anyway, that is the deal though, and the cheaper I can get the car in good shape the better. I choose the SS because I like the way the Hood and spoiler look, and it also reminds me of my friends ZL-1.

hourang, that is a good start for me. Tell me a little more. Sell it to me, rather.....sell it to my dad. I need a good reliable car that isn't going to crap out on me, and will get decent mileage. The mileage part is already good, but is it realiable? Please Sell me.
