Default Ls engine stock air intake

Hello guys I have a 65 impala ss engine is a Ls 2004 Silverado had to add an inch height on the clam shell hieght to clear steering gear box & oil pan I have bought the Ls engine covers now have no choice but to add a 3" cowl or replace the air intake to go with a flat hood need some opinion on the matter & does anybody make steel cowl hood for a 65 impala ?

Are you asking if you should use a LS1 intake or keep the truck intake and buy a hood?

If that's the case, of course get an LS1/LS6 intake. Power gains and fitment.
