Default 427 stroked questions

Guys I wanna build a motor that will be n/a in the beginning but take a magnacharger in the future. I want it to be around 550-600 hp at the wheels n/a and at least 1000 hp with the magnacharger. I also wanted to know if I can get to a 427 with a 6.0 cast iron block as a starting point? What heads will be the best option for both goals and what company sells the kit needed. Thanks in advance guys.

If you want to get serious, I'd see about sleeving an LS1 with darton sleeves. I think you'd have around $2k in the block, but you'd have an aluminum block that can take some boost. Plus this is something I want to see someone do.

I would start with a 5.3 aluminum block or a LS2 block then install darton sleeves as mentioned above. The darton sleeves are better on stability and reliability as far as long strokes go. I would do a no more than 4.0 stroke in a factory sleeve/bore block.

These sound like a great idea but aren't really in my budget. I want to start off with a cast iron 6.0 because sleeving is not needed and the blocks are strong. This is going in s classic, weight saving is not really a concern of mines. Building the most reliable cost effective motor that matches my criteria is paramount. If I need to go 408 instead of 427 maybe that needs to be a consideration but I don't understand why I can't do a cast Iron 427 striker.

^^+1 on the 408 since you're planning on running boost. What does your budget look like? I just love the idea of a high HP aluminum v8!
