High RPM noise ??

High RPM noise ?? The best way I can describe it is that at 5000-6500 rpm's there is a slight "clanking" noise coming from the engine. This mostly happens when downshifting from 4th to 3rd gear, or dragging out 2nd 
Here is the problem. It doesn't do it all the time. Bad gas? Too much timing? Bent pushrod? Any help would be great

1999 SS M6. It never did it before I got my LS1 Edit. They bumped the timing up in the car when it was tuned. I'm currently running a Granajunkey MAF, I'm thinking that may have something to do with it???
