Air box??

Just bought a 98 trans am, I have a 97 ram air. Is this air box the factory ram air box or is it aftermarket? Or is it even a true ram air box? Just different then my 97 WS6. Thanks!

That's stock. I don't know if the boxes are different between ram air and non ram air, I think it's just the hood. The decal is different from mine though, mine says RAM Air on it. Doubt it matters at all performance wise

Factory. The aftermarket airlids usually delete the silencer/baffle things on the side.

EDIT: Oh, I misunderstood your question. Yeah, I think they look the same with or without the Ram-Air.

Ok thanks! I'm hoping to use my air box from my LT1 on the LS1 hood. Gues I'll see if it fits or not!

Thanks so much!

Id keep your ls1 air boX and just buy a quality lid and ram air kit like the SSRA FTRA or Chris 1313.

Ok thanks!

So I've been looking into the Ls1 air lids a little more. Can someone explain what the advantages are over the Lt1 ram air through the hood and the under car LS1 scoop. My car is very low so I'm worried about it scraping!!

I went with the SLP air lid.

The FTRA wont scrape. The Chris1313 is aluminum so I wouldnt worry to much about it. These cars breath way better from the bottom.
