Hey guys new to the ls world, i am needing some help. I am looking at a 2004 5.3 out of a suburban. Its dbw, my question is what ecm is on it? What year or models did they switch from. I read something along the lines if you have a 24x ecm it can be ether way dbw or dbc. If its a 54x it requires new elector wheel and harness, misc parts. Any help would be awsome. I am swapping it in to a 70s truck and i know i can do the dbw set up just heard its harder to get tuned in and working.

I don't know on tuning but I have installed dbw on my 76 skylark. It works fine. Only hard part is making gas pedal work in your truck. I cut and shortened mine.

Right on, wasent sure just what i have heard
