Default Removing !AIR Question

Today was clean up the engine bay day. EGR, gone. AIR, gone. I pulled the AIR tubes, made my block off plates and then began to remove the hose all of the way to the pump. In the rear of the motor, both hoses went into a diaphram type deal. It had both hoses entering it, as well as a third smaller vacuum line. Both of the big hoses are gone, but the small vac hose still remains. So this is the question. Can I just block that hose off without any negative results?

I did this recently on my 01 Ws6. I just plugged that small tube on one of the coil pack bolts or one of the many back there.

Even better, thanks! I had already stuck a small bolt into the hose, but wanted to make sure that was the correct procedure. On a side note, the engine bay does look a little better to work in now. Seems odd, but it makes the engine look even further back under the cowl now.
