Hi all Im new here. I currently have a 2000 v6 5 speed with about 115k on it. Looks decent inside and out, paint is fading and clear coar is peeling but overall decent. Kinda looking to get a v8 but trying to spend the least ammont possible.

I found a 2000 z28 ttop with 190k miles 6 speed. 1 owner and is pristine in and out. Was used as a show car for a while apparently (which it shows) and was featured in some magazine which he has.

Anyways has loudmouth 1 cat back exhaust and was told it has ported throttle body and ported polished heads and computer tune. Everything else on the car is stock minus the wheels. He just bought a new 5th gen and decided to sell. He was asking 5k I got him to 4 but Im sure I can talk him down to 3500.

Do you think its worth running for a while and having it rebuilt? About how much can I get away with for a budget rebuild? Or would it cost less to just swap in something different?
