Default LS2 Camaro Z-28

Evening gentlemen (and ladies). I have stumbled upon a 98 Camaro just down the block, and, while not necessarily for sale, I was just checking it out and the owner came out and asked if I want to buy it, and I asked for a little more info. Seems like a cool guy, but what do I know. Here's the details (according to him); LS2 out of a GTO (6.0), stock t56, z06 clutch, and it sounds like it has the GTO rear end. Body has 140k and, according to him, engine has 40k. Its been sitting for about 4 months, in Chicago, outside, and he says he parked it because a brake line rotted out and he hasnt had time to fix. He had just had the car tuned. Engine has an upgraded cam (no idea on the specs), long tube headers, FAST intake. Rotors are toast (rust). It's got subframe connectors, (which appear to have some surface rust) and a strut brace up front. Nitto NT555R's in the rear in a 315 size, Kuhmos in the front. Seems like the car has some history with some race guys (owner threw out some names, I remember none of which, but they sounded familiar). Only problem is he has no paperwork for the build, he bought the car from a friend. How can I check the block and see what I'm looking at? The owner wants $3500 clean title in hand. Thanks, enjoy your night.

What he said!!The block on the right front behind the power steering pump should have 6.0 cast in it, sounds like a GM Hot cam to me......

$3500 with what you are mentioning is not taking too much of a risk if it is not a 6.0L and just a 5.7L....make sure it's all aluminum engine and at least you will know then too that it isn't some truck motor.

it won't have a GTO rear, they're not interchangable with fbody rears, but it might have an aftermarket rear which would be good
