Default Will 243 heads bolt right up to 5.3 motor?

I have a stock 5.3 motor with bad heads that came out of a 2000 chevy 1500 with the 706 heads and I have a set of good 243 heads and was wondering if 243 heads would be worth putting on and if I could bolt them straight to the 5.3 and what else would I have to do to make them work?

I would think so since GM used them on later 5.3 trucks. My 2009 Silverado had the 243 heads.

The 243 heads will bolt right on to the 5.3 engine.

My 2006 5.3 and 2010 5.3 both have 243 heads so you should have no problem.

They will not bolt up. Please promptly box them and send them to me. I will send you a set of 706'S. LOL !!!! JFWY! Your motor being a 2000' means it has dish pistons which will drop your compression slightly. I never bolt on heads w/o freshening them up and a milling is cheap. That will ensure you will gain some performance. Good luck to you.

Use a set of 4.8 pistons and get the compression back up..
