Default Best Sounding Muffler

I am running pacesetter headers on my Camaro, both of my mufflers are pretty banged up from the guy before me who had them. I'm looking into buying new ones. I was looking for some advice as to what muffler you guys think would be the way to go. I'm not really looking for something to extreme. I would prefer for it to be a lower tone that's quiet for the most part, but sounds nice at open throttle. I just thought I would check up with some of the gurus who know best. Thanks!

I am a huge fan of the Magnaflow cat-back with the Quad tips for both how it sounds and how it looks.

Edit:

Just noticed you have a Camaro. I LOVE how SS's look with the Center Mounted Exhaust. But if I was just getting plain exhaust I would go with the dual tip Magnaflow on a Camaro. IMO Quad tip doesn't look right on the Camaros.

The center mounted exhaust looks great. Right now I just have the x - pipe and Im just looking for a muffler to finish the exhaust lol. I just want a muffler that will have a deep tone with no rasp. Prefer for it to quiet. Running just the x-pipe sounds essentially like open headers. Gives me a headache lmao.

I've heard exhaust clips of them, they sound awesome. Problem being they are a little to loud for me. The reason I'm looking for quiet is I've got some complaints from neighbors lol. The car is driven almost every day, I want something that will just be a crisp deep tone without the excessive noise.

The magnaflow cat back sounds pretty good as does the dynomax bullet catback which is considerably louder with an off-road y pipe. You could always have a bullet muffler welded inline before the main muffler as a resonator for extra noise control.

Check out the Hooker Aerochamber muffler. Reasonably quiet and sounds awesome when you get on it. More of a muscle car sound. As an added bonus it flows really well too with no rasp. Well...at least with my exhaust setup. I've had my Hooker aerochamber for 4 years now and would definitely buy it again. Only this time I would upgrade to the newer stainless version. Good luck.

Hooker Maximum Flow. Civilized in regular driving, rowdy at WOT.

Thanks for all the responses! I'm seeing Hooker Aerochamber come up and I looked into it. Hopefully I can get something ordered soon.

I've never heard the aerochamber but I've always been a fan of magnaflow if you want a nice deep sound that's not very loud.

I have magnaflow's on my true duals. Very civilized and deep at idle, good cruising sound and sounds wicked at WOT.

Yeah, Spintechs sound insane. Probably my favorite sound, because it's so unique.

I have Kooks Bullets on my car now. Sound insane when you get on it and at idle. The rest of the time... eh. Way too loud.

Same here. I have the long tubes with that Hooker muffler and it's a very unique sound. Hard to explain sounds like a cougar from an easy take off and full throttle like a screaming banshee. It has a hint of a Volkswagon VR6 at a low RPM when accelerating slow and easy. I bought my car 3 years ago and one winter I had to drive the car since my truck crapped out. Now my DAMN exhaust rusted where the wields are. Not sure how old it is but in CT they changed from sand/salt to a different chemical on the roads and it literally ate through my hooker headers and exhaust.

I second that, had Borla with Hooker long tubes with the plate fully open and it was loud as hell but in a good way. No rasp and I would always get compliments, people thought that I had a big cam in. OP Borla is on the expensive side but with the plates you can adjust the sound to your liking.
