hey, i am from Germany and i drive a 98 camaro 5.7 .
so i want change the oil from 5w30 into a 10w40.
my camaro is only runnig during the summer.

Either grade should be ok.....though knowing your application (stock, built motor, driving style) would help. Anything from 0/5/10w-30 to 0/5/10w-40 in summer. I think some of the best oils made are in the 0/5w-40 grade. I don't think there's near as much quality stuff in the "old" 10w-40 grade these days .
You just can't buy via grade as there's so much variability in viscosity and add packages. A 0w-30 could easily be a much better oil than a different brand in 10w-40.
In checking Mobil 1's offerings for a 10w-40. It only shows up in their High Mileage variant. And it's WAY thicker than a stock LS1 would ever need (about 45% thicker at 100 deg C than M1 5w-30....and 24% thicker than their M1 0w-40). It's a lot more than just picking a grade. Mfg certs mean something too.
