best cam for my LS1

best cam for my LS1 i've been looking around for a cam for my 98 trans am ls1, car has headers, exhaust, lid, and i've been looking at Texas speeds MS3 and MS4 cam packages and just don't know if its the best route to go. i eventually want to do heads and intake in the future when i have the money for it. any info is greatly appreciated! thanks!

The MS3 and MS4 cams are pretty much max effort for the stock cube LS1. They will give up some power down low but will have strong top end. Any particular reason that you're considering these cams over others?

Hard to say the best cam for an LS1 but if your going to do heads in the future take that into account also, and since your car is a 6speed please not that even with the best tune your car will become a little bit harder to drive so get a nice cam that compliments your driving needs and dont worry about cams that have cool sounding names get yourself a cam that will make the car fun to drive on the street that makes alot of down low to mid range rpm power and keeps going up, rather than putting a cam in the motor that is undesirable to drive looses all kinds of low end hp and torque, but if your building this car for the track then thats a different story then you can slap the biggest Cam you can find that is hard to drive and lives way up into the 6k rpms all day because then you don't care about comfort you just care about the track, I hope I was able to help and not bore you I wish you the best of luck, at the end of the day this is a fun hobby that we all love!
