New pushrods, lifters, springs..... I didn't mess with the oil pump so I don't think it's the o-ring.. however it didn't replace cam retainer plate... I know that can cause a oil pressure leak. But can it cause a tapping noise?

I was told it could be my pushrod length but I got 1 1/2 - 1 3/4 turns after zero lash. So around .075 preload.

... remove sparkplugs, valve covers, spin engine to TDC on a few cylinders and feel the play at the rockers. It sure sounds like extreem clearance to me. Bummer Dude!

I did that and there's no play.. with 1.75 turns I calculated that my preload is .139....

What is the pushrod length?
Stock Rockers?
Are the headers bolted down well?

Did oil pressure change after the work was done compared to before the work?

yes. Ran 50psi at cold or hot idle and highway around 70. I didn't replace my cam retainer plate so I think it's that but would that cause the knocking?

Are the heads milled?
Why run 7.325 instead of 7.4?

might try tossing in stock pushrods back in, tighten the rockers to 22 ft lbs in the proper sequence and see if it is quiet.

did that . It was worse. 7.325 gave me the proper preload. To my knowledge they aren't milled but they are used.
