Default coated vrs black painted headers

I wanna know if its worth getting Long TUbe headers (pacesetter specifically) ceramic coated?

Ive read about the insulating effect of the coating and how it would help keep the header from cracking...but I wanna know how often does this actually happen to a normal uncoated header. I mean how much of a problem would this be for a car with my current set up, a car which is a daily driver and will only see the track VERY rarely...?

They make them always look great! Another thing is that in colder climates (isn't orange county always nice weather, i.e not a northeastern winter) the climates might damage the header.

so say in my weather (yea, we never have a day where we dip below 65 degs during the day and 50s at night..and the 50s are short lived), the ceramic coating is only a cosmetic upgrade?

You would have to ask people from around your area

I see from later posts that you choose the ceramic. You really can never go wrong getting it!!

What if you're just gonna wrap them anyways. Do you need coated then? I live in SoCal also BTW. There really isn't any inclement weather here.

You people are lucky my headers started to rust a week after putting them on. I'll never go with ceramic again. I don't think wrapping a ceramic coated header is good because water can get inbetween the header and wrapping.

So you would buy uncoated ones now because of this?

No I would just save up and buy stainless, they're expensive but worth it. Exhaust is something I'm no longer going to cheap out on. Though if you don't want stainless I believe there is some type of coating (non-ceramic) that will not rust. But this type of coating doesn't have any insulating effect.
I just wish I could remember the name....
