ok heres the deal: I found a really nice SS for sale, better than anything else i could afford pretty much, but...a couple fenders have been wrecked and something about the outer firewall of the fender or some ****. My dad is very weary of it and dosent want it, but i want it just because it is so nice. I need some advice, what are the pro's and con's of buying a car with a salvage title?

If you are buying it to fix and keep for yourself, there isn't a problem with a salvage title. If you ever think you are going to sell the vehicle later, thats when the salvage title will haunt you. That title alone typically knocks off about 30-40% of the value of a non-salvaged vehicle.

Salvaged cars make good drag cars though, you can gut the hell out of them and have no guilt

Is it NOW a rebuilt title?

If not the process of getting it converted from a salvage title to a rebuilt title can be arduous if you don't have documentation.

i thought a salvage title was the same thing as a rebuilt title...can someone inform me? And yes, ill be keeping this vehicle for myself for along time assuming it dosent get wrecked. I figure by the time i sell it i wont get much for it anyway. Is it possible to get the title back to normal here in OK?

Check the insurance on a salavage title, many times it is much higher than normal.

a couple years ago i tried buying an SS with a rebuilt title. my bank wouldnt go near it. she said that most wouldnt. good thing about it is that she said the car is only worth 50% of the valued price, so if you have cash and are going to keep it forever, go for it!

insurance charges 0 dollars extra and you can get full coverage the same, rebuilt title/salvage title same bullshit...nine ball is indeed right the cars worth 75 percent of what the same vehicle is with clean title....

Depends on what kind of deal you are getting. Dont pay too much but if its a good deal get it and use the other u saved for mods.
