Do you plan on removing the tank or cutting the access hatch?

its not bad if you cut an access hatch. dropping the tank sucks.

That's a pretty early failure. Did you chase down the
easier possibilities (fuse, fuel pump relay, defeat by
security or whatever)?

Yeah I would check your ground wire to your fuel pump located underneat the passenger side or something. We replaced my fuel pump and it still didn't run and then we found out this wire to the pump came loose. Don't do anything yet with the fuel pump.

If you do have to replace the pump, here is a link on how to cut an access panel: http://www.worldisround.com/articles/12533/index.html

Tell you what, I saw (I think in the fueling section) where
someone had just replaced the pump part of the assembly
with 1/2" tubing and used an external pump; if I ever have
to (or want to) replace my stocker that's how I'm going to
go. Plenty more options and plenty less hassle that way,
looks like.

Dropping the tank is not a big deal if indeed it is the pump, I dropped mine to install my racetronics FP and was done in 2.5 hrs and that included reading the miniture instructions that I had on hand and all the updated wiring.
