Help with fuel cut-off & air bag.

98Z, wife hit a tree just in front of the left front tire.Knocked the bumper cover off, fender is gone, etc... Wondering, should the airbags have gone off? Also, I was wondering if there was a way for me to reset the fuel cut off. I'm completely new to these cars and any advice would be appreciated.

The air bag is designed to only deploy in CERTAIN circumstances. I think that Angled hits DONT deploy the bags.

the air bags only deploy at impact speeds greater then 35 mph on direct front hits.
this is so they do not deploy unneeded, if your wife was unhurt then they were not needed,
note. no you wont win a lawsuit ;)

as to the fuel cut off, i believe the dealer can reset this for you .

Thanks for the input, the details of the accident were a little sketchy, I think my wife was caught a little off gaurd by 300hp, but she swears she was "only doing 10 or 15 mph" when she hit.The amount of damage looks more like 30mph. I was just a little worried about the bag blowing when I didn't want it to. It hit so close to the front bumper and all. Oh well. Guess sendering her to Bonderount school would have been cheaper!! Thank again.
