Default SS build numbers

I just bought a 2000 Onyx black 6-speed Super Sport. Never posted on LS1Tech before but figured this was a good place for my question. I was just curious about how you other guys with SS cars know their specific build number? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Call or email SLP with your VIN and ask them the info on it. They will give you the date and number for it.

Alright I got my build number back. Now does this number represent when my car was built in 2000 or over all years?

Build # is for that year only.

You can also ask them to email you your "build sheet". That will tell you who first ordered the car and what options you have.

Also ask them about a "birth certificate" for your SS. I bought one and I think it is kind of cool.
