Too much? I posted a thread a while ago about a 98 ss that i might be interested in. Well i had my mechanic look it over and it had a few problems. It has a bad driver front tie-rod, the tranny is leaking, rear-end is leaking, it needs new pads and rotors in the front, and it also has a very minor exhaust leak. Well i talked to him yesterday and he told me his dad wanted $9500 for it. So i told him that i might be willing to do $9500 if they fix all the problems and he said he is willing to do that. So if they fix the problems on the car do you think its worth it or am i still paying too much? Just a little info on the car. Its a 98 Black SS A4 w/ 99k miles, mods wise it has mac mid-length headers, hooker cat-back, and K&N fipk.
yea i'd agree that it sounds overpriced and it is said to be questionable about a car that already is modded cause chances are the car was beat on and with a car with 100K miles, thats a lot of time that the car could have been driven hard. I would spend the extra 2 or 3 grand and find a 98 car with a lot less miles (you can find them for 12-14K with low miles or maybe less) and end up saving lots of money in the long run. Just my .02
