Is it an auto or stick.Sticks have 3:42's and auto's had 3:23's or 2:73's.If the sticker is still on the door you can see witch gears you have. It'll be a gu code.(gu4,gu5 a letter number like that).

GU5, got it, and I LOVE IT!!!! if you cruise at 60 mph right around 2000 rpms give or take 50 rpms or so, you have the 3:23's. If you have incredibly low rpms at this speed, then you have 2:73's. Im glad personally that I have 3:73's! Came with an aluminum drive shaft as well!!

when i bought my 6-speed car, the speedometer was off (showed 70 when going about 77). come to find out, like 8 months later, the "rear end work" that was done to my car before i bought it included having the 3.42 ring and pinion replaced with a ******* 3.08
this must also mean that the carrier was replaced with a 2 series. the gear install was so incredibly crappy, that the ring gear had actuall worn a groove into the cover. i still managed to blow up 3.08 gears on 245/50/r16 rubber NEVER once going to the track
thaaaaaaats why my car always hooked up so well
after switching to a moser 12 bolt w/ 4.11's, 2nd gear pulls like first used to
