Should I keep '02 WS6 or modify '99TA?
As Kelley Bundy would say, "I am on the horns of an enema". Currently I have '99 TA A4 in excellent condition inside and out with 85k mi and a '02 WS6 M6 with 12K miles like brand new. I have to get rid of one (building a new house). The '99 had some minor annoying things wrong, like window motors, hatch release, busted speakers, no mods etc. So while it was getting a new fender from where my daughter wrecked it, I bought the '02. Then I found this web site and now I see all the cool things I could do with the TA. WOW!! Anyway, I can sell the older one and slowly upgrade the new one as money accumulates or, I could sell the '02 and then I would have $11,000 in pocket to modify and play with. Both cars are in excellent shape, both are red, both are a blast to have and drive. Just not sure what to do. I think I might want to take it to the track eventually, but not in the near future, just want something cool for a daily driver. Any thought would be greatly appreciated

I think I will put them both up for sell and whichever one sells first, I will keep the other. However, I may go and review the thread which lists the differences between the model years. Thanks.

I would say keep the 02. It is the very last year, has better features and still has low miles. Later down the road, you may do a few mods here and there, but remember, you are saying this will be a daily driver, how deep you mod it COULD hurt drivability and reliability.

well what are your long and short term goals? once you start modding the playing field is level bewteen the years. i'd keep the WS6 just of the fact its got the t56 over the 4l60e in the T/A but thats just me. again, it all depends on long and short term goals and how you want to do your build up.
Keep the '02. And if you did decide to sell it, I hope you ask for ALOT more than $11k!
I am sure that he would ask more than $11k. Maybe he still has an outstanding loan on it.
P.S. If I am wrong and you are selling the 02 WS6 for $11,000, I got dibs.

KEEP THE DAMN '02!!! Last model year, very low mileage, & 6-speed manual tranny...Hmmm...NUFF SAID!!!
If you really want to build up an A4, just wait until you've got settled into your new house and have saved up some extra money...Then go out and get yourself a cheap LT1 or LS1 in nice shape to drag at the track...
I like my high-mileaged '95 A4 Z28, but there is NO way in heck I'd ever sell my '02 M6 Z28 (4,200 miles BTW) to keep or build it up.

Thanks for the input guys. The '99 TA goes on Autotrader today. The $11,000 is the difference between what i want for the '99 vs the '02. I paid $22,500 for the '02 in April, but when I checked Autotrader, now all the similarly equipped TA's are going for $23,900 with more mileage. Interesting. Most of the mods I am wanting to do are just airflow issues in and out. The warranty is up in September and I will start then. Thanks guys.
