Default possibly buying an 02 SS, need advice!

I'm looking at buying an 02 SS with 50k miles and a salvage title (professionally rebuilt) for 12k. Car has a 6 speed, 4.10 gears, black zr1 rims w/ 11" in the back, eibach prokit, and unspecified cat back exhaust. Do you think this is a fair price? Also, i'm going to go check it out this weekend so what area should i pay special interest to look at to make sure all is well? thanks!

IMO forget it, salvage title vehicles (wreck I'm assuming) are nothing but trouble. Unless it's a theft recovery, stay far away, there are better cars to spend your hard earned money on

Honestly, I would keep looking. There are plenty of cheap LS1's available that have been well maintained and have a clean title. Hell, there are alot of members on here that are credible sellers that are needing to get rid of their cars for whatever reason, and I think it would be much smarter to pick one up from a fellow f-body enthusiast then to buy a wrecked and rebuilt car.

A friend of mine purchased a 2001 Corvette Z06 off of ebay and it had a salvage title. Bill flew down to San Jose to pick it up and it's a beautiful car. He drove it home to Everett and fell in love with it. It was modded as well, cam, headers with an M6.

You just have to watch salvaged vehicles. You'll lose a lot of money when you need to sell it, but you could also save a bunch too. If it is an excellent and professional rebuild, it might be worth the savings. IMO though, i'd stay away.
