Lightbulb 70-80 400 SB with LS1 heads/intake

Who knows of anyone that has installed LS1 heads and intake to a 1970-1980 400 small block? I am looking for any information that could help me with my 400 that is going into my 51 Chevy pickup.

The Ls1 heads will not bolt on to a small block Chevy. They'll only bolt onto 97 to current Lsx motors. ie;ls1,ls2,ls6

jaberwaki, you better start packin. It's on the map.

Better yet... Since you seem so shocked, let me tell you "The rest of the story":

I grew up in Horneytown, dated a girl that lived in Pleasant Garden, married her and moved though High Point to Climax. We've been married and living in Climax for over 25 years.

If I were you, I'd get some AFR heads asap.

Thanks Christo. A 2 bolt it is. Bored 0.040 over. I'm picking it up from the machine shop Monday around noon. I've not purchased the cam/heads/intake/carb yet. Reason being the 51 Chevy it's going in is presently disassembled.
AFR heads are a possibility for the mix. Other options are the Dart Pro 1, GM Aluminum Vortec and Edelbrock Victor Aluminum. I'm leaning toward the AFR or Dart but I have not finished my research on all of these heads. The combination of the cam, heads and induction systems has to match. I'm still reading, searching and listening. This is one reason why I came here. What I can gather most of yall are the been there done that kind of folk. You can't beat experience before laying your hard earned cash down.

me too, afr's outflow every head that i have looked into in the mid-lift range, not total flow. i would have just bought some recently but the runners are 180cc which is way too big for my 327.

Afr has a big reputation for a reason. Their heads flow like mad.

Sounds like an awesome car, and a way sweet engine. Take photos and share.
