Default Why does my car do this?

A couple times in the past week when I start up my car it idles at about 500 rpms and almost dies. If I shut it off and turn it back on it's fine. It's happened when it was both hot and cold.
What could cause it to do that?

Mine surges sometimes but never turns off. Its really bad with the AC on. But its all because of my cam. Before i had it tuned more conservatively it would shut off when i would put in the clutch coming to a light and that type of thing. You might just need a tune.

Something is definatly wrong if your car doesn't idle and act like stock (except for the power and lope of the cam) That cam is small enough to where you shouldn't have any problems with idle and what not. I'd get a better tuner.

Check your IAT (Internal Air Temp) sensor and TPS (Throttel position sensor). If it is the tune then it is something else. But those two things have given me similar issues.

Its completely fine now, it was bad until I had it retuned with a more conservative tune last summer. I was just saying it used to surge up until the tune.

Actually....
IAT = Intake Air Temperature (sensor)

If you only exhibit problems during idle, the problem may be the IAC (Idle Air Control (solenoid)).
