Default Trans Am with speedometer only 120mph?

Just a quick question. I recently purchased a 94 auto T/A. Its definitly a 5.7L, but my speedometer only registers to 110 or 120 (cant remember which right now since Im not looking at it, but I know its not more than 120.) Did this come stock, or has the cluster been changed? Thanks for any answers anyone may have.

I'm not sure where but I'm sure I read that if the car wasn't ordered from the Factory with Z Rated tires, The speedomoter only goes to 120 and it has like a 108MPH Speed limiter. Check on your door and see if the sticker has a Z rating on the tire size. If not, I guess what I read was true.

It is stock. I have a 94 T/A as well and it's the same...I think 110. The GT T/A's I believe went up to 150, but the regular T/A's had the 110.

*EDIT* - Heres a pic of mine.

make sure the 8th vin digit is a P which is for the LT1 so you will know for sure if it is an original v8 car

if it is its definitely possible that if it didn't come with z rated tires that a lower speed cluster was installed from the factory i have seen in both ways i know of 95 camaros with limiters at 115 with 150 mph speedos

I think '95 was the year when they bumped it to 150. So '93-94's has 110 or 120 speedo.

no most 93-94s had the 150 also. As stated above, if the original tires were not z-rated a 110 cluster was installed and it has a 108 speed limiter.

You have to go by the RPO codes. Some were speed limited cars like you said but its also listed on the inside of the door. The speedo doesn't reall matter.

I know a guy that used to have a 00 camaro z28 a4 that was limited to 115mph or something. His speedo when to 150. He was like damn my v6 mustang was limited to 117.
